We ordered some inexpensive musical instruments online, notably a couple of plastic recorders, two sopranos and an alto, and started to learn to play them. We are finding that our afternoons are so much fun. We sit around the family room and play our musical instruments as a family. Music is truly something that gives back as much as we put into it, so it's been a fine way to spend our time indoors during this hot summer season. We can also get sheet music online. We have found so many resources online for sheet music, different musical instruments, and we have even used tutorials to learn to play these instruments. Study after study indicates the importance of music in people's lives, and I know that we are really benefiting from having such good times together and learning new skills creating beautiful music as a family. It brings us closer together, too, a healthy thing for any family.
