musical instruments, sheet music All summer I've been trying to decide which musical instruments I want to learn next. All my life I've played musical instruments. My family is quite musical and even when my folks were struggling financially, they always made sure that we had access to an instrument so we could get a solid foundation in music early in life. By studying music so early in life, I have no fear at learning a new one. I was shopping online today and decided I would play the trumpet. I've played percussion and stringed instruments before, so taking on a brass would be a completely different learning curve. Fortunately, most of the sheet music for the trumpet is written in the treble clef, so I wouldn't have to learn new musical notation.

I got interested in trumpet music when my sister invited me to a rehearsal of an all-state orchestra for junior high kids. She is a music teacher and wanted me to hear what's going on in the world of music education these days. I was blown away by how well those kids played. I especially enjoyed the brass section, so the trumpet it is. musical instruments, sheet music
