musical instruments

I have always loved music.  When I was growing up I would spend entire days listening to my father's records.  I would pretend I was playing my own musical instruments right along with the band!   Each time my father would bring home a new record we would both go down to the basement and listen to the record all the way through.

My parents saw my love of music and really wanted to support me in it.  Being musicians themselves, they had various musical instruments around the house.  They began teaching me about all of the musical instruments and how to play them as soon as I was old enough.  I would rush home from school each day and finish all of my homework as fast as I could just so that I could get back to practicing on all of the instruments.

I really believe that learning how to play all these things taught me many good habits.  It taught me how to be persistent and determined.  It showed me just how much can be accomplished through practicing and not giving up.
